Stryker Settlement Program Reaches Milestone – 95% Of Registered Eligible U.S. Patients Enrolled In Program


After notifying the courts in both the New Jersey and Minnesota consolidated state and federal proceedings that 95 percent of registered, eligible claimants had enrolled in the settlement program, Stryker Orthopaedics announced that it would not be exercising its walk-away right and would be moving forward with the settlement.

The Settlement Program was announced in November 2014 and it was established to compensate patients in the United States who had undergone revision surgery to replace their Rejuvenate or ABG II implants prior to November 3rd, 2014.

In the near future, the Claims Processor will notify claimants and their attorneys with specific information regarding the timing for settlement distribution; however, Stryker expects that payments will begin in July and that the majority will be paid by fall of 2015.

The settlement is expected to exceed $1 billion.

There have been no official discussions with regard to future settlement programs that would compensate the thousands of potential claimants who were not covered by the present program. However, our firm will continue to press for future settlement programs to compensate our growing list of clients who were not covered by the present program and we will continue to accept and review claims from new Stryker clients.
