Plaintiffs Reach Settlement Agreement With Stryker For The Recalled Rejuvenate And ABG II Hip Replacements

Articles / Plaintiffs Reach Settlement Agreement With Stryker For The Recalled Rejuvenate And ABG II Hip Replacements

Posted on November 4, 2014

Stryker has agreed to a settlement for all patients that have received a Rejuvenate or ABG II hip implant and have undergone revision surgery to remove and replace their recalled Stryker device by November 3, 2014.

The settlement proposed would offer a base amount of $300,000 to each claimant. There are potential reductions based on age, prior hip revision, as well as other factors.

Stryker Orthopedics, a subsidiary of Stryker Corporation, recalled both the Rejuvenate and ABG II devices back in June 2012 after receiving hundreds of adverse reports citing severe complications, including: premature failure and metallosis (metal poisoning).

Participation for the proposed Stryker settlement is voluntary and applies to patients who are United States citizens and have either received a Rejuvenate Modular Neck System or an ABG II Modular Neck System in the U.S. and have had those devices removed and replaced before November 3, 2014.

There are important deadlines that need to be met in order to preserve your claim. Additionally, unrepresented claimants will receive a sharp reduction in their award. It is recommended that you contact one of our lawyers to help you evaluate your options and make sure the critical deadlines are met.

If you have undergone revision surgery to remove and replace a defective Stryker hip replacement by November 3, 2014, your case may qualify for settlement.

At Cutter Law, we offer free case evaluations and are here to help answer any questions you may have about the Stryker Hip Settlement. Give us a call Toll Free 888-285-3333.

Again, there are a number of important deadlines which will need to be met in order to qualify for the settlement. We strongly encourage you to contact our office so we can discuss those deadlines and how you may best proceed with your claim under the current settlement guidelines.
