How Long Does a Wildfire Claim Typically Take?

Video Transcript

The time that it takes to reach a resolution on your wildfire claim will vary broadly. We’ve had some cases, such as the 2017, 2015, and 2018 Northern California wildfires, where it took approximately a decade for those clients to get a resolution of their case. As a matter of fact, right now, some of our 2015 wildfire clients are receiving their final payment from the PG&E wildfire litigation. That’s because that’s a case that went into bankruptcy. So that’s an unusually long period of time. Our Maui fire clients, my law firm, and my team are representing a significant number of people burned out in Maui. That is a case where resolution was achieved in one year, and here, at the beginning of this next year, they are set to receive their first payment. So, in just a little bit more than 2 years, they are set to receive their first payment. It really depends on the facts and circumstances of your particular case. But contact my team and the wildfire lawyers at Cutter Law and we can help you understand what you’re entitled to.
