How Long Do You Have to File a Slip and Fall Claim in California?
Video Transcript
In California, you typically have two years to file a lawsuit for personal injury, and that includes slip and falls, trip and falls, fall accidents, and the like. However, there are exceptions to that. The first and most important exception is that for public entities, you typically have to send a claim form within six months of the injury. There are exceptions to that, though, and always exceptions to the two-year rule.
So, if you think you were improperly injured on the premises of a building, a restaurant, or another business facility, you should contact a lawyer to figure out if and when you need to file your case.
