What Are Warning Signs of Sexual Abuse that Parents Should Look Out For? [Video]
Video Transcript
If your child tells you their teacher wants to take pictures with them, if a teacher or, you know, a coach is spending one-on-one time with your child away from the class or from the team, that’s a red flag. If your child is going through emotional changes and acting differently—either becoming withdrawn or, for small children, expressing sexual behavior that’s unusual for their age group, that’s a sign of sexual abuse. I encourage parents to monitor their kids’ phones, because kids will often look things up or talk to their friends about what’s happening, without feeling comfortable to share with their parents.
