Nursing home abuse really comes down to a lack of care. That’s what’s different about it from medical malpractice, for example. A nursing home abuse really you see someone failing to protect someone from falls, someone failing to reposition a resident and then they develop pressure sores, you see a resident developing dehydration or malnutrition. And that lack of care all ties to decisions to understaff the facilities. So really, the types of nursing home abuse that you see are pressure sores or bed sores, malnutrition, falls, dehydration, frequent, hospitalizations, urinary tract infections and things like that.
