Attorney-Client Relationship

At Cutter Law, we think it’s really important to know you and for you to know us. Your experience as a client is of utmost importance to us. We will invest our time and resources into investigating your case, but we will also spend significant time getting to know you and helping you know us. We see clients not as cases but as people.

What Is an Attorney-Client Relationship?

An attorney-client relationship is like every other relationship in your life. Not everybody is fit to be with everybody. You have to make sure that the attorney that you’re talking to is somebody that you trust and somebody that you can see standing by you through thick and thin for the next four weeks, four years, or decade – whatever it takes to get you the right outcome. If you don’t trust that attorney when you’re sitting across the table from them (and you need to trust them), then you know that’s not the right fit for you.

Insight From Cutter Law

One of the things important to me is to know the people I represent. Often I end up visiting them in their homes and we become friends. It’s about knowing the people well enough so that they feel comfortable asking me for advice and me giving them advice.

Why Is It Important to Develop an Attorney-Client Relationship?

We are known as a firm that will take your case to trial. When we go to represent you in court, it is important that the jury and defendants know that we really care about you and that’s why we’re moving forward with the case. We have had opposing counsel tell us at the end of the case that they could tell how deeply committed we were to our client we represented and that is what caused the insurance company to want to settle. An attorney-client relationship is not something you can fake either.

Insight From Cutter Law

When we represent clients in court, our commitment to our clients makes a difference and even boosts our credibility with juries.

How Do We Build the Attorney-Client Relationship?

For all of our clients, we insist on having hands-on, direct contact, whether that is email communication or phone calls to discuss what’s going on in the case. We may visit you at home if you’re comfortable with that. We’re going to get to know your family. You’re going to get to know us. We’re going to be on a level of personal knowledge and comfort with each other.

In our experience, this kind of open line of communication maximizes the probability that we’re going to get our client the best possible outcome with the least amount of frustration.

Insight From Cutter Law

I always enjoy having strong communication with my clients that includes emailing, phone calls, text messages, and in person meetings if the folks are local.

What Does the Attorney-Client Relationship Require?

An attorney-client relationship requires trust. It is important that you feel comfortable with your attorney and that you have confidence in them. Our clients trust us because we have a genuine interest in them. We start working to earn your trust from the beginning and continue to foster it through hard work and constant communication.

Insight From Cutter Law

We have visited clients in their homes, shared meals with them, looked at their family photos, and more. We want our clients to feel comfortable with us on a personal level.

Hear From Past Clients About Our Relationships

John Roussas is awesome! I was involved in an accident where I was injured and sent to many months of therapy. Even though we had to wait a couple months until the therapy was over, I was never abandoned or felt abandoned because he was checking in every step of the way to make sure things were going ok- either with a quick phone call or email.

Brooks spoke to me like a human — he would tell me, “As your friend, I say this, as your lawyer, I say this,” and it really helped me get through the situation

I can’t thank Brooks Cutter enough for the services that his company provided me. When I needed help the most, he took the time to really listen. I thank him from the bottom of my heart for giving me that peace of mind when I needed it the most. When I was in need the most, I found a friend … a company I could truly trust! I am forever thankful.

I heard jurors express their appreciation to Celine for how considerate she was to the jury; one juror even asked for a business card.

Everything about the way Brooks communicated with me was reassuring, professional and comfortable, like talking to a friend. My future was at risk, but his experience and knowledge put me at ease — there was never a question that he couldn’t answer immediately for me.
