If we’re retained by you to represent you for a serious car accident, we will have an investigator go out and document the condition of your car, assuming it’s still at the wreck yard. We would like to document and photograph it and make sure that the car functioned as it should have.
We’ve had cases where the car rolled, for example, and the seat belts didn’t function appropriately. We also do auto products liability. It may be that you’re in a severe car accident, the other person has very little insurance, but the protective systems of the car didn’t function as they should have. We want to make sure to document that.
Maybe your airbag didn’t go off. Maybe your seat belt didn’t work. We’ve had cases where the seat back collapsed, leading to a much more severe injury. So, we want to consider all of that.
Even if it’s just a straightforward car accident where there’s plenty of insurance, we want to make sure to document the force of the impact on the vehicle because even though people can have severe injuries with low impact, if the car is significantly damaged, that’s just an easy thing for juries to understand.
