What are Common Causes of Truck Accidents in California?
Video Transcript
What we see in truck accidents as common causes are fatigue where the drivers worked/been on the road for many hours, sometimes even more than is legally permitted without breaks because they’re under so much pressure from the trucking companies. We see that. We sometimes see two sets of log books being maintained, and so, we really have to learn to investigate and get to the bottom. So, I would say, fatigue, falling asleep, being in a hurry, and just in time delivery often puts pressure on drivers to exceed a safe speed for the road they’re on. Speed is a big factor. Fatigue. Mechanical failure is also something we see in trucks with failure to maintain brakes and systems on the truck. So, those are some of the important factors to consider in trucking accidents.
