How Is a Class Action Different from a Regular Lawsuit?

A class action is different from a regular lawsuit because it involves one person representing everyone that suffered the same or similar harms.

So, unlike a regular lawsuit where each hurt person has to bring their own case, in a class action, one representative person called a “class representative” brings a case on behalf of everyone that was similarly injured.
