Who Can File a Mass Tort Lawsuit? Cutter Law Explains

Video Transcript

Basically, any attorney who is representing an injured person who knows that their client may be part of a mass tort litigation can file a claim for them. However, it is in the client’s best interest to work with an attorney who has experience in the mass tort arena because it is such a complex area.

They have to understand what the process is going to be like. They’re going to have to understand how to work with the lead group of attorneys who may not, you know, necessarily be involved in that process. And if you are, that’s also important for the client to know.

For example, I myself am on a steering committee for a mass litigation right now. So, I know what the day-to-day is. I’m reading the documents. We’re doing the depositions. We’re handling the motions. But someone who files a mass case may not be necessarily involved in that process at any given time.

So, it is important to hire an attorney that understands and knows the process and how to navigate the complexities of a mass case.
