In California, we have a process called a coordinated proceeding, also referred to as a JCCP, where many people who have the same type of case will have their cases consolidated in one court. This allows—if all the cases, for example, are against one defendant—the court system to be less clogged up in different places.
What I do is, I am on leadership for the plaintiffs. So when those cases all get consolidated into one place, the court has appointed me to be plaintiffs’ liaison counsel in the Uber rideshare cases. This means that I am responsible for maintaining communications between all the different attorneys, the court, and the defendants.
